Abstract Oils
“These pieces are more experimental as I was unfamiliar with what might happen when I used them. As I progressed, I became a lot more able to predict the chemical reactions that would take place, and use the techniques with a newly found predictability. It was fun not knowing what I could make happen because the different product combinations continued to surprise me.”
Inspiration for the collection?
“As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the colour, lines, shapes and patterns that I observe. My source of inspiration derives from the smallest stones to grandiose landscapes to aeronautical views from planes. My acrylic work allows for experimentation, investigation and, creating various layers of meaning. Abstract art can be harder than most people realize, and knowing when to stop is as important as where to start.” — Teyjah
