FLORAL PAINTINGS COLLECTION
Complementary Poppies
This was the first of a several studies of poppies. In this first painting of it, Teyjah uses complementary colours schemes, not literal colours. She does this purposefully in order to test what it will look like. Techniques include washes, watercolours, bleeding, blending and dry brush. In this variation, the poppies are more abstract, and you don’t necessarily recognize the same flower as others in the series. The closest in look and association are ‘Wildfire Blush’ and ‘Chromatic Flowers’. Both these paintings more clearly depict the same flower.
