While in Chinatown in Vancouver, Teyjah observed a building with lettering on it. What she noticed was the most interesting feature was the reflection of the building on the glass high rise across the street as it reflected on the glass of the building. She used the shadow shapes she saw to create a funky stylistic watercolour image that most people would not have noticed. Colours were not there, but Teyjah added them to give greater dimension and interest. Teyjah describes it: “This painting is about as realistic as I ever want to get. For me it engages my mind and I see the shadows and shapes as a piece of art.”
