Santorini, Greece
We all know that Santorini is colored in all shades of whites and blues. Teyjah’s interpretation of this classic village in Greece was made distinctive with unique colour interpretations, which is her signature style. Teyjah never saw this scene as it is depicted — she created it and had to re-invent parts of it of it imagining what Santorini might look like.
“I wanted to play the warm red-orange colours against the cold blues and greens. These colours optically mix well together. Choosing high impact colours made it look different and fun. I also like the wonky ceilings of the buildings, which is very imagined, as are so many aspects of this painting.”
