Project Description
ABSTRACT PAINTINGS
The Wizard of ID
When creating this piece, Teyjah accidentally left the canvas sloped while it was drying. This created more movement in the paint than she expected. She describes this piece – “I ended up liking it and the interesting shape it created. I was visually intrigued, and thought I could see an image of a wizard in the middle of it. This triggered my brain to contemplate people and the human ego, and how self-righteous we can be. For that reason, I called it ID. Looking at a painting, we often see and feel what comes from our ego.”
